The History of This Set:
Rosenthal produced the “Shadow Rose” pattern between 1953 and 1989. It was discontinued after that. The designer of this pattern was Raymond Loewy who was a Franco-American industrial designer with a talent for mid-century modern designing. The single rose with translucent leaves adorning the gold-rimmed dishes reflects the elegant taste of this artist.
